The inspection comes first

Before we quote a strip, we find the failure.

We identify the paver type, age, exposed aggregate, porosity, old coating, joint material and drainage. Then we wet a test area and watch the color change and absorption for several seconds. That surface response tells us whether the coating is still protecting the paver or trapping a problem underneath it.

Five-second water check Beading, darkening and absorption help set the scope.
01

Coating failure

White haze, peeling, cloudy patches and uneven sheen show that the existing sealer or its bond needs to be tested.

02

Trapped efflorescence

Mineral haze below a failed coating cannot be corrected by adding more product over the top.

03

Joint inconsistency

High and low joints, mixed sand colors, mortar, poorly graded sand or loose material all change the restoration scope.

04

Drainage and moisture

Standing water, clogged drains and irrigation overspray can break down a coating and void an otherwise good finish.

The right scope

Not every paver surface needs the same package.

The condition of the coating, joints, drainage and paver itself decides whether we maintain, re-sand or fully restore it.

01 / Leave it alone

Protection is still working

Water beads, the color is still enhanced and the surface is not being damaged by traffic, weather or drainage.

02 / Maintenance

The finish needs a refresh

The joints are stable and the coating is sound, but the color enhancement or sheen is starting to fade.

03 / Clean and re-sand

The field is stable

Newer or consistently maintained pavers may only need cleaning and joint correction before the next protection step.

04 / Full restoration

The coating has failed

Peeling sealer, trapped efflorescence, patchy absorption or contaminated joints call for stripping and rebuilding the system.

The restoration path

From failed coating to a maintainable finish.

Stripping is only one stage. The surface, joints, drainage, product and cure window all have to work together.

01

Failure Diagnosis

We identify whether the problem is moisture blush, over-application, incompatible sealer, failed joint sand, staining, or natural stone sealed with the wrong product.

02

Controlled Stripping

When stripping is needed, we test the removal approach, then use surface-appropriate stripping agents and controlled pressure while limiting unnecessary wear.

03

Deep Cleaning & Stain Treatment

We clean the surface, treat rust or oil where possible, rinse thoroughly, and give the pavers time to dry before the next phase.

04

Joint Sand Restoration

We remove loose or contaminated joint material and, on standard interlocking concrete paver fields, install joint material selected for the paver type, measured joint width and written manufacturer guidance.

05

Correct Sealer Application

We reseal only when conditions are right, using the right product for concrete pavers, brick pavers, travertine, or natural stone.

Inspection-led paver restoration

The condition of the surface shapes every recommendation.

We check the paver material, old coating, joints, movement and drainage before recommending maintenance, re-sanding or a full strip. The selected product, coat plan and warranty terms are then written into the proposal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can white or milky paver sealer be fixed?
Usually yes. White or milky sealer is often moisture trapped under a topical coating, over-application, or incompatible sealer. We inspect first, then recommend a partial strip, full strip, or restoration clean depending on the failure.
Do all failed pavers need a full strip?
Not every cloudy surface needs stripping, but a connected paver field with failed sealer usually cannot be patch-stripped without risking uneven porosity, color and sheen. We test the coating first and recommend maintenance, cleaning, a separate-area correction or a full strip based on what will finish evenly.
How long does paver stripping take?
Most restoration projects take multiple visits because stripping, cleaning, drying, sanding, and sealing cannot be rushed in Florida humidity. Small driveways may take 2-3 visits; larger pool decks or failed coatings can take longer.
Can you restore travertine pavers?
Yes, but travertine and natural stone need a different approach than concrete pavers. We use stone-appropriate cleaning and penetrating sealers, never a film-forming topical coating that traps moisture.
